Cragside
Cragside is a National Trust property and whilst the house is closed during this Christmas season, there’s still plenty of outdoor family fun to be had. With an outdoor maze, festive decoration making, mischievous mice, wish tree and of course plenty of winter walks to stretch the legs and breathe some crisp fresh air.
Belsay
A little further afield but well worth the visit is English Heritage Belsay Hall Castle and Gardens. There’s an annual Christmas Fair on 25th and 26th November 2023 which features traditional handmade crafts and gifts from local artisan makers, set in the beautiful backdrop of Belsay Hall.
